Microsoft's Fairwater AI datacenter sits on a 315-acre site in the Village of Mount Pleasant. Microsoft calls it the world's most powerful AI datacenter. The company announced in June 2026 that construction of the first facility was complete, with equipment online since April 2026. A second facility of similar scale is under construction for 2028, and in January 2026 the Village Board approved up to 15 more Microsoft data centers northwest of the site. Three nearby Sturtevant residents sued Microsoft over noise in July 2026.
